I'll be staying there again next time!
Raming Lodge was a great inexpensive hotel. I never had hot water problems, (I showered at non-peak periods.) Internet wasn't free, but it worked just fine! The room was VERY big, and had good air conditioning. (although it turned off during the day when I left the room, which made it a bit uncomfortable when I first arrived back.) They had a good variety of tasty foods (hot and cold) on the breakfast buffet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an inexpesnsive place to stay in Chiang Mai!

Great hotel, good service, friendly & helpful staf
Country : United States of America
I really enjoyed our stay at the Raming Lodge. It was clean and centrally located. Also enjoyed having the free breakfast and it was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also booked several tours thru the desk downstairs and really enjoyed the time. Also there was 24 hr room service and a great happy hour. There is also a spa upstairs where i had a great Head, Back and shoulder massage. i would definately go back to the Raming Lodge..

Comfortable, clean and central
Raming Lodge is a really nice place to stay if you need somewhere close to the city centre but like the idea of a smaller hotel. Service was really personal and always friendly - always a smile to greet you morning and night. It's close to the action - restaurants, bars, clubs, tour agencies etc. The rooms are great value for money, clean and comfortable with plenty of room. Air con worked really well! Breakfast was included and was pretty good - most things on offer.

This felt like we were staying in a palace!
Country : United States of America
The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so we were treated to Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. The room also came with free spa vouchers - what a treat! Complimentary breakfast was a gourmet spread of wonderful food and the hotel is centrally located. Also easy to book excursions and tours from the concierge. If I over go back to Chiang Mai, I'll definitely stay here!

Excellent Value for Money, Great Location, Great Staff
Country : United States of America
We (an American couple) stayed with our friends (an Austrlian couple) at this hotel for six nights in May. In short, we cannot fault it one bit, especially with the value we received for the money. Here's the breakdown:
Room: Certainly, the room (a deluxe) was nothing special, but it had plenty of space and was clean. Our room had a view of the nearby mountains, which was nice. There was an in room safe, as well as a fridge stocked witha few free sodas/pieces of fruit per day. The shower always had plenty of pressure as well as hot water. Really, no complaints here.
Breakfast: There were enough selections, but nothing really stood out here. The eggs tasted kind of funny, but the orange juice was absolutely delicious.
Staff: The staff members were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, and they spoke enough English to help us out with anything we needed. Dan the hotel restaurant manager was very friendly, and informed us that "Every Hour is Happy Hour" at the restaurant. :)
Hotel Pick-Up/Drop Off: A van was waiting (with a sign) when we arrived in Chiang Mai, and there were no problems getting dropped off. THe hotel is very close to the airport, perhaps about 20 minutes.
Location: We LOVED our location. Yes, there are lots of bars (with some prostitutes) and massage parlors near by, but they did not harass or bother us one bit. Lots of places to eat or drink near by, and it was a quick tuk-tuk ride over to Good View/Riverside restaurants. There is a currency exchange (with good rates) right next to the hotel, as well as a 7-11. Finally, we were a short walk away from the Night Bazzar, as well as the Sunday Walking Street/Market. As I said, we loved the location.
Pool: Some reviewers have faulted the pool. It was literally across an alley from the hotel; I don't know why this is troublesome to walk a few feet. It was small, but clean and with full drink/food service from the restuarant available.
Miscellaenous: As part of our pack

Perfect location and friendly staff
Country : United States of America
No complaints whatsoever. Perfecetly located close to shopping, nightlife, and tour companies. Quiet at night. Great front desk staff. Hotel includes vouchers for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Internet/computer available at a charge, but internet cafe across the street was ridiculously cheap. Overall no complaints.

“Excellent Staff & Great Location”
Lovely place to stay - stayed here based on other good reviews and it lived up to its reputation. Staff met us at airport with sign for free transfer, we had no problem there, which I wondered if there may have been confusion as it was a domestic flight, but we had to collect luggage from internation end, but he was waiting.
Great location,. lots of litlle beer bars around hotel and great cheap massages across the road. Easy walk to night markets and very close to Sunday markets at Tha Pae gate
Breakfast was really good, varied each day and was always fresh.
Staff were fantastic, if they did have trouble with English, they always quickly got another staff member who was more fluent to help.
The pool is only 30m away from hotel door across a quiet back lane, to complain about that would be petty - for Chiang Mai that set up is not unusual, pools seemed to be an after thought at many places.
Already we are planning our trip back.

Great Hotel with Great Location
i booked a junior suite with the hotel and the hotel provided airport transfer for free. the staff was friendly and helpful and the room was nice. we are given free fruits and a slice of cake everyday. this hotel area is full of pubs and restaurant. on saturday nite there will be night bazaar, 10 minutes walk from the hotel and on sunday night, there will be sunday market. if you intend to buy things, recommended to buy it from sunday market as the things are much more cheaper than saturday nite bazaar. if you are looking for plu places, you can also ask the tour guide. overall is a nice stay and we will return again to chiang mai.

Pretty Good Hotel, Really Great Staff
Country : United States of America
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. the location was excellent and central to the main events going on in the city. the staff was very helpful and kind. breakfast was included in our stay, but was nothing special, just the basics. there was hot water in the shower and air conditioning in the room. there was also a safe in the room so we felt comfortable leaving our important belongings in there. i would recommend the hotel to a family or couple that is looking for a pretty good hotel for a fair price. in relation to what we received, the price was very competitive. overall it was a very good stay and i would go back in the future.
